Bridge Hall Primary School Where Every Child Matters and Every Day Counts

Science

At Bridge Hall we believe that primary science should be mainly based upon exciting, practical activities in which pupils are actively engaged in investigating a problem or question related to their learning experience. We want science to stimulate and develop curiosity and questioning not just teaching and learning scientific knowledge.

Currently, children learn through rich discussions, securing and developing their knowledge and ideas, testing and developing ideas about everyday phenomena and the relationships between living things and familiar environments.

The teaching sequence of the topics in each year group are decided by the teacher allowing a cross-curricular approach for planning and embedding knowledge and skills.
