Curriculum

Our Curriculum

We implement the National Curriculum Programmes of Study in both core and foundation subjects.

In Years 1 to 6 we teach discreet lessons in reading writing, maths, science, PE, music, Spanish and computing. Other lessons may be cross curricular, where we link curriculum areas. For example learning about a history topic will involve literacy skills, computer research, maths skills, art and geographical skills.

We have specialist teachers to support the teaching of music and P.E. and we have teaching assistants who lead dedicated interventions to support the teaching of maths and reading.

Personal, social and health education (PSHE) is a priority at Bridge Hall. We are committed to educating and supporting our pupils to live successful lives in modern Britain. Every class has PSHE every week, often delivered through a circle time. Our pastoral manager supports the delivery of personal social and health education across the whole school.

We are  following the National Curriculum,  guidance that can be found here.
