🍽️ School Meals

Bridge Hall Primary School — Free School Meals 2025/26

We want to make sure that every child at Bridge Hall Primary School has the best possible chance to learn, grow, and thrive – and a nutritious meal at lunchtime plays a big part in that.

🍽️ Free School Meals: What You Need to Know

All children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal every day under the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.

However, your child may also be eligible for additional support if you apply for means-tested Free School Meals (FSM) – even if they are already receiving universal meals.

Your child may be eligible if you receive one of the following:

  • Universal Credit (with household income below £7,400 per year after tax)

  • Income Support

  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

  • Child Tax Credit (but not Working Tax Credit), with income below £16,190

  • The guaranteed part of Pension Credit

  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

🍎 What are the benefits?

  • A free healthy meal each school day

  • Access to additional education funding for the school (Pupil Premium)
