In Nursery we explore different topics throughout the year, focusing on key texts ranging from stories about space to traditional tales. We sing lots of songs and nursery rhymes too - we want to make learning as fun as possible! 

We begin the school year by focusing on the prime areas: 

- Communication and Language. This includes speaking, listening and understanding skills. 

- Personal, Social and Emotional Development. This includes making friends, sharing and talking about different emotions. 

- Physical Development. This includes gross motor movements, fine motor skills and personal hygiene. 

We also provide lots of opportunities in specific areas:

- Literacy. We work on name recognition and read lots of stories! We also begin to make marks with paint and felt tips.

- Maths. We sing a number of songs, count to 5 and solve problems. 

- Understanding the world. We talk about the world around us, ask questions and provide experiences such as food tasting. 

- Expressive Arts and Design. We get messy with paint, sticky with crafting and imaginative with role-play.
