Year 6

Welcome to the Year 6 class page.

Our teacher is Miss Platt.

During Year 6, we build upon previously established abilities, encouraging students to produce work of a high standard. Our rich and engaging curriculum allows children to engage in independent enquiry and collaborative learning. While we work hard to achieve academic excellence, we also ensure that fun and creativity are integral to the learning experience. Together we foster a nurturing environment that promotes growth and enthusiasm for learning.

Important Information for Year 6

Reading

A reading book has been sent home for your child to read. Your child must read at home every day, including weekends. They will have a reading record that needs to be signed by a parent or guardian. Once they have finished the book, they must return it to school so that a new book can be issued.

Homework

Homework books will be sent out at the start of the academic year. Homework will be set weekly. The children will be set work that they have been covering in class that week, or previous weeks. Work is to be completed in the homework books and brought in for Miss Platt to check weekly.

Key Information

PE

Throughout the year, children will engage in a variety of sports both indoors and outdoors. It is essential that children bring their own trainers for PE sessions, which will rotate each half term. Notifications regarding specific days will provided in advance. During the winter months, we advise that children wear a jumper for added warmth.
