Pupil Premium

🎓 What is Pupil Premium? 💷

Pupil Premium is extra funding given to schools to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities reach their full potential 🌟📚.

The amount a school receives depends on how many eligible pupils are enrolled. Funding is provided per child who qualifies for Pupil Premium.

👩‍🏫 Who is eligible for Pupil Premium?

Your child may be eligible if they are:
🍽️ Currently receiving Free School Meals (FSM) or have received them in the last 6 years
🏠 Looked after by the local authority
🏠 Previously looked after or in other forms of state care

Please note:
Pupil Premium is not a personal budget. It is funding used by the school to benefit eligible pupils — and, in some cases, others with identified needs too (e.g. young carers or pupils with a social worker).

Schools can also use this funding for whole-class support, such as improving teaching quality, which benefits all pupils.

🏫 At Bridge Hall Primary

At Bridge Hall, we use a structured, research-informed approach to ensure our funding makes the biggest impact on children’s learning and wellbeing 💡📈.

We focus our spending in three key areas:

1️⃣ High-quality teaching – e.g. staff training & professional development
2️⃣ Targeted academic support – e.g. tutoring for specific learning gaps 🎯📖
3️⃣ Removing barriers to learning – e.g. support with attendance, behaviour, mental health & wellbeing 💬🧠
