PE and Sport Premium
This year, we have received additional government funding for Physical Education, which we are using in various ways to enhance our PE curriculum, encourage an active and healthy lifestyle, and strengthen community connections.
A significant portion of the funds has been allocated to continue our partnership with SHAPE, enabling us to access a specialist PE teacher. This support helps staff with ongoing professional development in PE while providing students with opportunities to engage in a variety of sports and competitions. This year, we have increased our investment in this service to offer targeted physical activity interventions, helping children develop gross motor skills and physical literacy.
The remaining funds have been dedicated to hiring specialised coaches through ESC to facilitate safer and more active lunchtimes, physical activity interventions, and after-school clubs—including the establishment of our own football team.
During the summer term, we plan to host enrichment days when students can explore new sports and physical activities led by professional athletes.
Additionally, we have joined the "Creating Active Schools" project to further integrate physical activity into the school day and encourage more children to stay active.
